In LF's defense, was this made totally clear? The used to address this (but did it less this season) that characters, understandably, don't immediately believe supernatural occurrences. Since Bran barely popped up this season and only said weird autistic shit maybe LF didn't see the immediate danger he was in and assumed there was a mole leaking secrets.

Obviously it would have been a good idea to cut and run then but he probably thought he could scheme his way out of it the way he always did. He had no way of anticipating that Bran was basically a wizard who could see through time and space.

The knights in the Vale were in the room to bear witness and to predictably show their strong support for Sansa Stark. And the execution shows that the Starks rule Winterfell and the North, and will not piss around on matters of treason.

No political theater, wrong the family and die. Clean and simple, how the North likes it. With LF's death, the lords are fully united behind the lady of Winterfell.

That's wrong though, LF wasn't sowing discord in the hearts of nobles for months. The only nobles he betrayed were the Boltons, and nobody in the North should have any issue with that. It makes sense to use LF as a scapegoat, but it would be a remarkably limited one because the only thing they could get him on is killing Lysa, something only Sansa witnessed and most importantly, something she defended him on. The Vale lords should have known immediately that she was full of shit because why did she defend him? It just makes it look like Sansa betrayed LF to get the Vale army (which also fucks over Sweetrobin). Plus the Vale army now has little to no reason to be there. They don't seem to know much about the WW threat and nobody knows that Bran has magic powers. Plus if they did, why not go back to the Eyrie which is far easier to defend anyway?
