I am so sick of all the fanbase arriving to the conclusion that Littlefinger was an irredeemable "villain" simply because they refuse to put thought into things surrounding Littlefinger's arc. Littlefinger makes it abundantly clear that Sansa does not have to go to the Bolton's if she does not want to. He saved her from Lysa. He also helped her and Jon Snow reclaim the North, which they most likely would of lost without their intervention.

What he did to Ned is a bit more grey, but Ned was naively leading to a complete mutiny which would of most likely destablised the entire region and would of most likely got himself killed in the process. Littlefinger could of very well arguably saved him from this had it not been for Joffrey's intervention.

Littlefinger is not a villian, but he is one of the more morally ambiguous characters in the show. He only became a "villain" because Joffrey and Ramsay were dead and the audience wanted someone to hate. Anyone who thinks Littlefinger is a "villain" for playing the same game that every fucking main character has been playing since the beginning is clearly more interested in the "fantastical" good vs evil magic dynamic that has plaqued every fantasy medium than the political component which at this point in the show, is pretty much forgotten.
