So, has anyone watched this yet? I'm really big on the subject of 42nd street (my favorite books on the subject being The Other Hollywood by Legs McNeil and Jennifer Osborne, Sleazoid Express by Bill Landis and Michelle Clifford, Tales of Times Square by Josh Alan Friedman and Ghosts of 42nd Street by Anthony Bianco) and waiting until the whole thing is on Bluray to buy so I can binge watch. I understand the first episode was feature length, so, how was it?

To me mid to late 1970's New York was both the city's peak and its nadir. When you think about NY THAT is the era that hits your mind; Studio 54; CBGB's; Plato's Retreat; grindhouses, porn theaters; Screw Magazine etc....
I'm hoping that The Deuce will be the show that we wanted Vinyl to be and it's shame that Martin Scorsese wasn't involved since Taxi Driver perfectly captured the look and feel of the time which is one of the reasons why it's an iconic classic and Scorsese's best film!!!FACT!!!

The first episode was almost 90 minutes. I think the feeling and mood of 70s was captured pretty great, the whole episode was good but i'm not sold on Franco yet.

I hate Franco's fucking guts but I'm compelled to see this because he's such a slimy cunt that's he's almost perfectly cast. I'm also reading that Richard (The Wanderers, Clockers, The Night of...) Price is involved. Some great potential.
