Which is the best?
all of them
the 2nd one
>>86973609
It's all one movie.
If you aren't watching the entire 11 hours and 24 minutes in one sitting, you're watching it wrong.
It's pretty much a single movie cut in three. You should watch one after another.

So, which is the best act?
>>86973609
It's all one cinematic epic.

1>3>2
>>86973609
fellowship obviously. best soundtrack, best pacing, works best as a standalone movie, no filler, good humor, etc. the cgi for balrog has aged way better than the cgi for treebeard for example, in two toers.

fellowship
I got tired of gollums bullshit halfway into Two Towers
It's easily my least favorite of the three
>>86974477
Definitely the first one. They're all really good but the first is like an adventure movie and the next two are more like big battles and drama.

>1>3>2
This is the indisputable correct answer.
Fellowship
>>86975910
>gee that's a nice climactic battle scene you've got there
>now here's a shot of some trees talking
2 is at the bottom for sure
>>86973609
Going by theatricals, probably fellowship
But true patricians know that Return of the King Extended Edition is the best of the 3
>>86977099
>Return of the King Extended Edition
Hell yeah
>>86973609
Fellowship is the best. Quite small and short of self contained. All these people saying the trilogy is all one movie are wrong. There is a marked decrease in quality following Fellowship.
1>3>2
But Sam's speech at the end of 2 was best.

Plebs.
I like 2 the best, the ending Sam speech still gets me
