WotLK was the first truly story driven expac in WoW and a huge improvement over TBC where it only became good in Netherstorm and Shadowmoon Valley.
It's only improved from there with the new technologies they made for the game. Phasing technology revolutionized WoW's zones from static lands to ones that changed based on your storyline progress.

Legion has been fantastic btw. Hyped for 7.3 and the return of motherfucking Turalyon and Alleria who we've not seen since Warcraft 2.
