No, people just compare the sequels to the original. all the Halloween and Texas Chainsaw Massacre sequels suffer from that. Friday the 13th for example does not. High expectations ruin everything, man. "nah not as good as the original" is a fucking curse. Halloween 4 is better than all Friday the 13th movies "maybe not Jason Lives", but it never gets enough credit because it wasn't as good as the mighty original.

Halloween is a movie that has good things in it; the title; theme music; PJ Soles's tits; but it's stupid shit from start to finish. Kid kils his sister for no reason. Breaks out of nuthouse and can drive a car. Manages to find hometown. Randomly goes around picking off teenage girls. Doctor dickhead runs around telling everyone how EVIL MM is but he'd rather stalk around and pick off people one by one at night when a truly evil/crazy person would have walked right up to them in broad daylight and cut them to piece's. There's just soo much inconsistent bullshit in that movie.

Friday the 13th at least plays like a mystery where there's some semblance of logic. Woman's son drowns, she goes nuts and kills people who try to re-open the camp ground where her song died. It's also got some real suspense as we don't know who the killer is.

Meyer's is said to be PURE EVIL just to excuse the shitty plotting and why he stalks this particular group of girls, seemingly because one of them mouthed off to him when he was driving the car that he wouldn't have known how to operate let alone get back to Haddonfeild. Also, why not just use the car to run down those sluts, get out and cut their heads off if he was SOO FUCKING EVIL!?!

F13th 1/4/6 are genuinely good movies. 2/3/5/7 are not as good but I can still watch them and be entertained. Only 8/9/10 are shit although 10 has the funny holodeck scene which only made me want to watch a classic old school F13th flick. Freddy vs. Jason was trash, and action movies disguised as a Horror film and it should have been called A NIGHTMARE ON FRIDAY THE 13TH, not promoted as a fucking wrestling match.

I remember I loved watching 1-5 in high school, never saw much of 6 but I was kind of against them explaining why he kept coming back (ruins the magic of the movie).
