I'm just gonna go ahead and say it. Mads was the best Hannibal Lecter. Hopkins was great for a 15 minute cameo, but I don't believe anyone could ever see his Hannibal as anything but a serial killer. Mads came of as an eccentric, but not necessarily someone I would be afraid to be alone in a room with.

The actor is only as good as the direction he receives.

The atmosphere and tone of the character/series was perfectly done.
