I don't find Sam Hyde funny. I have nothing against him or anything, his shtick just doesn't appeal to me that much. I gave his show a chance, and while it had a few neat ideas, the focus on heavy-handed messages made it not very entertaining. He posted a bunch of stupid shit on twitter and then when it started to get attention he just doubled down on it and then blamed Heidecker for the cancellation. Even if Tim was trying to get the show cancelled, Sam's comments on twitter and his behavior during that time were what put the nail in the coffin. Sam has just gotten worse since then and it seems like the other guys have reduced their communication with it, which is for the best.

obviously i'm not going to knock his performance in that sketch. and i of course acknowledge that it was one of the most powerful things i've ever seen on tv. and words can't describe how far it transcended its medium, and no one can exaggerate how great it was. however, his strength lies in his kinetic energy, dramatic acting chops, and schizophrenic rants. none of which is good enough by itself to carry a sketch (in the prison sketch, i would argue that the direction, cinematography, set design, and score do just as much heavy lifting as charls does). with nick and sam, you can just turn the camera on and watch them talk for xx minutes and it is watchable, enjoyable, and memorable. see "hard s tackle football" or "round bread" as examples (although there are tons of others). charls is probably the best dramatic actor of the bunch but sam and nick can do more. watch moms and tell me you miss charls in it.

I think the worst thing about that whole sketch was they all seemed to have no idea what Hyde, Milo, or Shkreli were. They seemed to make fun of Hyde for being a meathead which made it look like they only watched that one sketch of him in the gym as reference.
