It's fucking garbage. The entirety of the movie is an innocent, affable, loving, generous person being tortured to death by an overblown representation of the system. Doctors, bosses, policemen, landlords, and lawyers all come together to gang rape this almost unbearably innocent motherly paragon. There is no substance to it at all. It's just two fucking hours worth of torture porn. Not only that, but the writing in this movie is so fucking awkward and stilted, every line comes across as if it was being read off of a teleprompter. And what makes this even more sad, is that the only thing keeping this shipwreck afloat, is an actress who was only supposed to be there for the soundtrack. Had Bjork been replaced by anybody else, this movie would've sucked even harder. And people consider Lars Von Trier a fucking brilliant director? One of the best of our time? Fuck that. He's a talentless hack who gets off to seeing people battered and abused, so he makes every one of his fucking movies revolve around how many times he can completely crush a character within the span of a couple hours. Fuck him and this movie. The only person who deserves any sort of award for this was Bjork, for managing to carry this godawful movie on her motherfucking shoulders.
