It's not even adulthood. It's teenage years, when you realise the kid isn't actually cool like you thought when you were around his age. As far as self-insert movies for little boys it's right up there with Last Action Hero, but at least Last Action Hero was in on the joke.

Reminder terminator 2 was built entirely around the idea the audience would not know that arnold was a good guy until the "get down" scene, but "HE GOOD NOW" was absolutely central to the marketing.

T1 is a shit action movie compared to T2 and its only a decent horror/sci flick fi if you want categorize it as that
