without any trailers and going in blind, it comes at night, a ghost story(not really horror but very beautifully made), other than that it's been mostly big projects for horror like get out and such til September when the genre really starts moving

The poster was the only good thing about the movie, it was like some lukewarm art school project trying to warn against the dangers of miscegenation or something.

Fuck you for trying to get some poor bastard to watch that fucking movie. Do you think this is funny? Really fucking funny dude. You go watch it!

That is not a horror movie. And you should feel bad.

Are you the films director?
Never have I ever come across someone actually defending that movie.
>>
>>86862991
It is shown as a horror film, without any elements of horror in it. There is also a lot of plot holes and an inconsistent story line. The ending also makes little to no sense at all, as well as the ending conflict between the families.

The movie was basically make by a 10 year old trying to be deep.
>>
>>86863069
>Never have I ever come across someone actually defending that movie.
It's in practically every "Top 5 films of 2017" list of anons on /tv/, most people here love it. Not to mention the pretty high critical acclaim.
>>
Here Alone.
>>
>>86863166
Without any bullshit. What do you think is good about it since it is not the production value, story or acting?
>>
>>86862426
don't let this faggot fool you. that movie is trash
>>
>>86863104
sounds like someone wasn't paying attention, each night sequence for the boy the director closed the camera aspect tighter and tighter if you actually followed the story instead of looking for quips you would have no second guessing as to what happened in the end
>>
>>86862799
What's wrong with it?
>>
>>86863336
So you can't answer?
>>
>>86863104
>It is shown as a horror film, without any elements of horror in it.
Though I highly disagree it doesn't have any elements of horror in it (creating actual suspensful tense scenes, fear of the unknown etc) this could only be a flaw with marketing, not the actual movie.
Your point is commenting only on the marketing and that it did not fit your expectation of a standard generic horror, not the actual quality of the film.

>There is also a lot of plot holes and an inconsistent story line
Feel free to list those plot holes. Your "inconsistent" point makes no sense because it's pretty consistent, just uses a non linear narrative which is nothing special or new.

>The ending also makes little to no sense at all, as well as the ending conflict between the families.
Feel free to list the reasons why aswell.

So far the only thing you've said is "it's bad because it's bad".

The editing, cinematography, soundtrack, sound design, the blocking AND the narrative and the performances. I love the portrayal of the fear of unknown, the paranoia amongst the family.
>>
>>86862913
yes, easily my favorite horror film
>>
>>86861943
The wailing was pretty mich the best Horror Thriller ive Seen in the Last 10 years. Pure Kino
>>
>>86861943

Absolutely. It's the horror movie of the year every year. It Follows is a masterpiece.
>>
>>86863695
It was good, but a masterpiece? Really? You didn't think the setup for that pool scene was a bit ridiculous and stupid? Performances? One dimensional characters? The writing in general?
The only filmmaking element that was "masterpiece" worthy is the soundtrack.

Why do you fuckers always have to overexaggerate everything? A film here can only be an absolute masterpiece or utter dogshit, nothing inbetween.
>>
>>86863852

Nosferatu, Halloween and Elm Street are masterpieces and you can't say the characters have much depth.
>>
>>86864017
I wouldn't call even those films "masterpieces" necessarily, but they are iconic classics for sure.
>>
>>86863695
How did the Jeff know all that shit about IT
How the fuck do you reach the conclusion that you need to sexually transmit a person following your relentlessly to another person because the person following you wants to kill you?

I just watched Annabelle 2 and it was honestly pretty good.

Starts slow but becomes pretty good after about 40 minutes (film is almost 2 hours).

it was shit. story has been done to death and outcome was very predictable. It brought nothing new to the table

Do you want actual horror or stuff classified as horror that's a great film but not particularly scary.

Cause in the latter category, there's the Witch, It Follows and Don't Breathe

wtf why
>>
>>86864565

You only think it's a masterpiece because it's a black and white silent movie, and because your own capacity to create your opinions has been cowed completely by the weight of critical consensus.

Justify its status as a masterpiece. I'll wait.

i saw it last week and i found it a giant piece of shit
sure the standard jump scares work at first
but like with the first movie (that was also terrible) as soon as they show the demon the movie turns to shit. he looks fucking goofy instead of scary.

The mid-20th century setting is comfy too. Really makes for a good atmosphere.

The best recent horror film I saw was called A Dark Song.

It's made for adults who read books. So it's going to be over the head of most of /tv/.

The Void and Life
