Even if more mainstream news sites have reported on it this is my first time hearing about it. It's not a top story like it was with Tiger Woods.

A lot of his fans haven't heard about it and quite a few of those that have are already defending him, saying stuff like "nobody's perfect" or "everyone makes mistakes" or that they just don't care much about his personal life and they still like his work.

He got accused of cheating, not raping someone. Most people will be upset for a few months then forget about it. People might comment on it every once-in-a-while in the future but his career will be mostly recovered.

On an interesting side note, there were actually a quite few instances in Buffy that have had characters cheat on each other, and while (most of the time) it was acknowledged that it's bad they cheated, most of the cheaters are portrayed in a pretty sympathetic light.
