I've read the comics twice now. And at first i hated this show and I almost gave up on it.

But it's grown on me and I feel like it's gotten alot better and at times is a decent representation of the core elements of the comics.

Did you watch past the first episode? The first couple of episodes are pretty sickeningly heavy-handed with what seems to be SJW crap but it comes around. For instance; in the first episode, daughter of aggressively progressive teacher and her gay bff go to highschool party, she wakes up the next morning date-raped, accuses football jock, everyone thinks she's lying because they love the jock. Pretty gross, right? Super agenda-y, very current events. However, as it turns out, the jock actually IS completely innocent, and just an all-round great guy. The rapist was in fact the gay bff, who is seriously fucked up in the head. People who say it's SJW garbage haven't watched it.

Different anon here so I don't want you to think someone's moving the goalposts, but the biggest reason why I don't want to give the show a chance is because of that kind of teen drama

Literally every show that has a teenage girl gets dragged down as a whole by her, see

So if I hear a show has a teen girl I'm giving it a pass completely, I don't even care if the show is a 10/10 and the teen high school girl finally breaks the stereotype of not being a moody little cunt, I've had enough of that shit to last me a lifetime and frankly it's just the low-hanging fruit of family-related drama

The 4400 is one of the finest shows i've ever watched. Definitely the best Vancouver-core show.

Such a shame. The writers said they planned for Season 5 to be the last anyway so S4 feels like the climax of act 2/opening strides of act 3 in the story (all building to the war with the future humans)

Kinda crap? It was a pretty decent show that did some really interesting stuff. Definitely better than 90% of the crap that's out there today.

I agree that Baruchel definitely isn't funny or attractive. I don't think the humour was meant to come from him though, it was the situations. Probably would've been better with a more suitable lead though.

They why I said "kinda crap". The loser-in-a-big-city setting is kinda hackneyed but writing was ok and I enjoyed the surreal elements, but the delivery by Baruchel was tired and crap. I didn't relate nor wanted to relate to him to the point where he deserved pathos and I didn't want to see him succeed (to which I don't think the writers had intended).

This was a vehicle for a better comedic actor.

Rubicon started a bit slow but had great characters and by the end of the series seemed to have a solid idea of where it was going, unlike so many classic shows that didnt (xfiles, lost).

Terriers. Well this is just hands down criminal. Brilliant cast and writing. This was a really tough time for good shit getting cancelled..

Again with Lights Out. I see Ray Donovan is still going. I watched and liked the first two seasons but I didnt think it had half the legs or the heart Lights Out did.
