Episode 8 is amazing but every episode has brilliant cinema in it. Just thinking about last episode when Norma and big Ed kissed and the camera cut to a beautiful blue sky and lingered on the movements of the clouds. A really simple, evocative way of showing how much potential there is in the world despite all the evil that goes on. Simple, yet no other tv show even attempts this kind of association... fuck Breaking Bad's "symbolic" bacon, it seems so contrived in comparison to a genuine artist like David Lynch

There is no unifying story that connects many of these plot lines together. I don't fucking care about Richard, Becky or any of the new characters. I don't even care about Audrey because her plot doesn't seem to matter at all. The only thing that that feels important is what's going on with Mr. C, Cooper and the FBI. That's it. The rest feels like filler The new characters haven't been given enough to make us care about them. Also, the Nadine and Ed scene was lame as fuck. You mean after 25 years, they didn't break up? It just feels like something they saved for the series as fan service

I was disappointed at how little Becky/Steven there's been but on reflection it seems like they were more part of the scene-setting to show how life is now in Twin Peaks

All the old-timers are off in their own world and haven't moved on from 1990 while all the young people are dead inside and can't find work, use drugs, etc while everyone else ignores them or brushes them aside.

There's still enough time for them to also figure into the main story if that is the plan.
