Can somebody recommend me some honestly good movies? I'm a massive movie buff and a rule of thumb to gage what I've seen is, throw out IMDB top 500, throw out pretty much anything that's ever been in theaters in America, and I just can't do super old movies like M or Nosferatu.

For example, somebody recommended me Predestination the other night and it's been fucking weeks since I've seen a watchable movie for the first time and I had a blast.

I'm pretty picky desu because I hate investing a couple hours into something and just being like... "Ugh wtf fuck me that sucked".

I know this thread isn't racebait or trap porn but hopefully some lurkers can help me out, thanks in advance.

What if like, I've basically seen them all? At the ones that are worth watching, for example, I like Miyazaki but like, Ponyo is a 'meh'. Do you have any suggestions?

If you have any inclination towards foreign films, I wholeheartedly recommend Tom à la ferme.
Tension is palpable, great framing and eerie atmosphere,
Possibly the best thing I've seen this year.

Can you give us something more specific to go on. You into horror, or prefer action? Some kind of general direction to go in as far as recs go.
