I just saw an advertisement for MoviePass and it looked like a scam to me. They CLAIM that for $10 a month you can watch 1 2d movie a day any any partner theaters.
Does anyone have this? It seems too good to be true. A single 2d ticket at my local Kinoplex is $15. I don't see how this makes anyone money.

It makes money because people spend less than $10 a month on movies
There's even fucking subreddits for it. How is this a thing? Everything about this screams scam to me. Like, I'm going to get my credit card details stolen, scammy.
Been using it for over a year when it was more expensive.
Yes it is legit.
They just lowered the price to 9.99 so their site is in the shitter, try signing up in a week. In regards to making money? They sell user data. If you care about that, then obviously don't sign up.

To clarify, they don't sell CC data. They just sell user data (location bracket, what movies you are seeing, when you are seeing them).
You'd be shocked at the "useless" info major advertising firms want.

Wow, so it's an actual thing.... I think I'll give it a try. I almost never go to the movies but this brings the value prospect more in line with piracy.

It's worth it but like that guy said they keep track of what you see and you cannot watch the same film twice

That's not really a problem for me. I rarely want to see the same movie twice in a row anyway. Everyone tracks everything you do these days.
