Well admittedly I've only seen 1, 2 and 3. 1 had a solid beginning but fell into schmucky garbage. 3 was horrid right from the get go and just got worse and worse as it went on. 2 had actually scary elements focused on isolation, the best use of jessica lange, interesting supernatural elements with the angel lady, and generally well fleshed out characters. Nothing else in the show is going to come close to the name game scene. And the last two or so episodes were all really poignant redemption arcs for all the characters. It was campy, but solid and actually scary at parts and with good fleshed out characters.

I've seen episodes of the later seasons at bars and stuff and they look like genuine shit.
