to be fair, in Seven Pillars of Wisdom, Lawrence himself wrote about fucking all sorts of arab dudes. Curious enough, it wasn't looked down upon by the rebels in the desert. Now his memoirs are still classified to this day as literature instead of historical fact but if there are any embellishments then I would say the gay stuff would be least of them. Things like towns the rebels supposedly took were actually done by British troops, etc. etc.
