I've had that film in my netflix queue forever, I figured it would be a fun sex comedy to watch someday.
glad OP posted this so I don't get too disappointed

The American had a lot less intrigue/action/spyshit than the marketing implied

I didn't expect to bust so many loads during Bridge to Terabithia

Movie is about a cute girl who begins writing a blog about her sexual escapes that becomes unexpectedly popular. Starts out fun and gets progressively darker as it goes along.

By the end she admits to being raped by a neighbor when she was a kid, gets beaten by her boyfriend, exploited by a married man she babysits for, ends up pregnant from a college professor who pumps and dumps her, and can only find solace with her cool old mentor, who eventually admits to having raped and nearly killed a prostitute in his youth. He convinces her not to abort the baby and come live with him to support herself and the kid. While wondering what to do next and growing excited about motherhood, she gets a text message from someone, leaves home and is never seen again.

Movied ends with her mother writing on her blog begging for leads on her daughter's whereabouts and revealing that since she embellished some stuff, the blog was rendered inadmissible as evidence in the investigation, everyone in it denied what she wrote, and that was that.

Movie ends with the mother breaking down at the realization that all of them had motives to hurt the girl and that she'll never find out what happened to her daughter and unborn grandchild.

I saw it too. Watching Martin Sheen, the living embodiment of dadcore, talk about being a junkie rapist was bizarre.

Specially since he doesn't actually say what he did, only that they were both high, he doesn't remember it, and whatever he did wasn't "conventional rape" but equally traumatizing.

I read the book in grade school in the 90s.
The trailers were hilariously misleading. Though I was kinda annoyed they make it look all Narnia and shit when I always imagined it was just kids playing make believe in the woods.
