If you think about it, the real pressure was simply because Light wanted to kill L without detection. It isn't like Kira stopped killing, murders went on like mad through basically the whole series.

If Light never went after L, they'd have no reason to take Misa Misa, and therefore no reason for Light to pull his stunt, and no reason to give the Death Note to anyone else while he pretended to investigate himself after the death of L, etc.

The entire story is one of Light's hubris. At any point he could have quit and just been Kira and there's no reason to suppose L would ever have suspected a mystical magical notebook. By the time L loses, the viewer has ostensibly bought into Light's own delusions of grandeur and his pain at losing to Near is the viewer's pain at feeling cheated.

But it wasn't a cheat. We always knew how it was going to end, Ryuk told Light and therefore told us.

I've had a vague idea in my head that you could do Fate/stay night in a two season plot. The first would more or less be an adaptation of the Fate route, but the second would be Unlimited Blade Works, with the Shirou from the first season confirmed to be Archer, creating a kind of loop, and adding more weight to the character.

I don't think any channel would be willing to adapt Heaven's Feel. Not once they learn about the worm pit.

I have somewhere around 200-300 titles (I was young and even dumber than I am now) and I can confirm that anime is mostly shit and not worth the time, also this whole medium is surrounded by most insufferable faggots imaginable. Just watch like 10 or so normie-approved shows and films and you can never touch this cesspool again.
It's filled to the brim with absolutely mindless shit, most shows out there develop by a very standard and boring scheme, with a lot (A LOT) of filler in each episode, all character archetypes are dumb, exaggerated and overused, it's really hard to explain but believe me that a lot of characters in show X are gonna be the exact copy of characters from show Y just with couple changes and different appearance, and most shows is either cute girls doing cute things or good guys kicking bad guys, that's literally it, and everything that's happening on the screen is usually as vapid, banal, monotonous, pretentious and cringy as you can imagine, sometimes even more. It may seem fresh while you're still starting but when you watch more shows you will start to realise that you saw all that happening a hundred times already, just with a very slight differences to characters and decorations, then it just becomes unbearable, it's all the same shit.

Personally I want to recommend neon genesis evangelion. It's not edgy but it may seem like it at the beginning, bear with it. It's widely considered to be the most influential thing to come out of japanese animation and rightfully so. If you gonna watch just one anime show in your life, make it this one. Cowboy bebop is a contender too, but I like nge way more.
