Disney lobbies to have copyright laws extended every time "their" IPs are about to pass into public domain, while also cannibalizing everything that passed into PD before they became the soulless corporate monolith that they now are.
They are everything that's wrong with big corporations. The only aspects of creativity and vision that they encourage are about how to best light and display fast food. They don't create any more. They just repackage and market.

They still make some alright entertainment for children. And they distributed The Straight Story which is legitimitely my favourite movie of all time.
But yeah, overall their impact is pretty toxic.
