Every series (movies, anime, manga, arise prequel) is a different story in the same setting, kinda like alternate realities. It makes sense since everyone has a different idea of what gits is about. Akiba's Trip was a pretty big surprise for me for the Spring season. I didn't expect much from it because it was an adaptation; however it actually ended up really good. It's Gonzo working on a shoestring budget and they just go crazy with it.

Modern western cartoons are very boring in terms of animation, largely thanks to outsourcing all key animation to talentless Korean sweatshops and obsession with sterile, on-model animation.
