The humor in MK mostly falls flat but it is the better overall movie, but Street Fighter has the better acting with Raul Julia and the Zangief guy.

My only complaint about Mortal Kombat is that it was a franchise known for its extreme violence and should have been rated R.

MK doesn't try to be legit, Johnny makes quips about how absurd everything is throughout the movie, even Liu Kang makes some quips in the beginning about Radien and the White Lotus

Mortal Kombat easily. It actually has decent fight scenes unlike SF, which is what you want from a fight film based on a fighting game. SF isn't even so bad it's good, it's just bad.

MK had better fight scenes and a better soundtrack.

SF was more quotable and had a better, or at least more noteworthy, cast.

They're both cheesy in different ways so other than that it's hard to rate them.

SF is a bad movie, but Raul Julia really elevates it beyond what it should.

There's quite a lot of great dialogue, & delivery by Bison.

ok was street fighter the one with the cartoon that had live action spots with JCVD or someone who looked like him at the end of the episode or maybe in between commercial breaks where they would give a little GI joe style PSAs? I liked the street fighter movie but it and the cartoon fucked me up as a kid. I went into SF II animation thinking Guile was the lead when it was really Ryu so that shit threw me for a loop when I saw Bison stomp a mudhole in his ass for the final battle.
