OK but they really should have done Mary/Tom once their respective love interest actors bailed on the show in season three.

Also, the irony that Thomas arranged for Mary to be anally raped yet ends the series with an utterly oblivious Mary and her son, being the only ones in the family who cares if he lives or dies.

Tom and Mary could never worked. Tom's a fucking commie who can't shut up to save his live and Mary is a certifiable batshit crazy bitch.

Hell, the only reason Tom was able to call out Mary's bullshit was the fact that he was just as much a certifiable batshit crazy bitch as she was. Everyone else tipped toed around her ranting and raving.

Which in turn is why Tom never showed any romantic leaning towards Mary. Especially after the nightmare with the bunny broiling nanny. You don't stick your dick in crazy, especially if you barely survive it the first time around.

To be fair, Thomas wasn't that much of a villain. You are supposed to route for him fucking up the family and his co-workers because of the fact that he clearly fucking resents them and their status in life/him being forced to clean up after them and all that.

Also, note that once everyone found out that he was gay they all conspired to protect him from being arrested for buggery. And continued to trust him with their kids, even after they found out.

The irony is that the Upstairs Downstairs revival (put into production to cash in on Downton) did the reverse: they made the chauffeur a card carrying Nazi along with the rip off of Cybil (who was also a Nazi and left the chauffeur to fuck one of Hitler's top men).

And unlike Tom, who never once fully rejects socialism/Marxism, the guy from UD ended up rejecting Nazism once he got outed/cucked.

Season 2 was incredibly dark and I don't think this show was self aware enough for that kinda tone.

Like when the waiter guy who had a crush on one of the cooks assistants is wounded and tries to marry her and she says no as he dies.

It's just strange, anyone else know what i'm talking about.

She eventually does marry him; she never quite loved him as madly as he did and only did so out of peer pressure cause he was dying.

Which is kind of principled when you think about it, given how she ended up making out with a widow's pension, which she basically gave to his piss poor farmer because she knew she didn't deserve it.

Also them killing Matthew's GF off was more them writing themselves out of a corner given how fans hated how they broke up Mary and Matthew at the end of season one.

She begrudgingly says yes though, because she led him on at the insistence of Mrs. Patmore the cook. And she then regrets it and feels guilt and shame for almost the rest of the show for having lied to him on his deathbed.

Excellent tv series, one of the best ever.

We were supposed to get a prequel series about Robert and Cora meeting in the late 1800s but the showrunner is a fag for bitchy Lady Mary and wants to do a post-Downton movie about her, set in WWII.

that story where she had a fit because Dan didn't want to give the Crawleys the money left to him by he girl who died heartbroken. And then you see the house the crawleys would have to move into if they lost Downton and its a fucking mansion.

Mary is mean so I liked her. Also she is a slut.
