While it's an amazing movie, I think Only God Forgives is better. Neon Demon kinda loses itself in what it's trying to say sometimes.

It's babby's first art film. Visually striking, low smooth aesthetic, but so full of things that have been done before. The weird triangle that doesn't mean anything, the decorative wallpaper that seemingly comes alive, even the twist at the end. Which, by the way, comes after some ridiculous pacing that sees everything interesting happen in the last 10 minutes.

It's the kind of movie you watch when you simply want to watch a movie, not necessarily one that's memorable or strikes a chord.

It was visually impressive, with a decent story and decent-ish acting. The characters weren't exactly likeable, however they were written well. It was enjoyable and I'll watch it again. The edgy ending threw me a bit, however, and I'm a bit undecided as to whether or not that's a good thing (think of it like that childhood food you hated at first, but now you don't mind so much - same concept).

Distinct lack of tittie in the first half, though.
