I found the plot for part 2 way too convoluted. The original is great because it's nice and simple.

anyone that watched it when it came out? normies didnt understand it, they were entertained, but couldnt grasp for the fuck of their lives how time travel was portrayed. kids got it, but their parents didnt. and they became completely clueless with II.

nowadays audiences are way more familiar with time travel memes.

I think the producers generally agreed that part 2 was a misstep which is why part 3 did away with the confusing time paradox stuff.
