It's extremely obvious that the writers are shit. The first clue was that weirdo timejump / alternative camera invasion of Casterly Rock.

I cared a lot about this show, i was so glad to get a fantasy series that isn't for children and based on the ASOIAF and when i started watching season 1 all those years ago i was so pleasantly suprised to see that it atcually good. Well written, well acted, detailed and beautiful to watch.

The fact that it's turned into this perverted, dumb and cringy mess that it is now is making me depressed and the fact that DnD isn't getting lashed for it is disheartening.

By the time she lands and is in earshot of them, they had to go as the Night's King was readying his second spear to kill their ride out.

Also, I'm fairly certain that they don't know how to kill the Night's King. They know that only fire and obsidian kills the Wights, and that only Obsidian and, by extension, Valarian steel kills White Walkers. But they know that fire does not kill the Night's King, and the audience is aware that Obsidian/Valarian steel doesn't kill the Night's King since he was created with Obsidian in his heart. None of this would have worked.

One of the main characters is a woman who was raped and then came to power - typical SJW/feminazi crap. Of course, the main character has to be a woman who becomes strong. You go gurrlll!

It's obvious to me that the Dothraki are supposed to represent illegal immigrants. Think about the Tarly guy who was just burned up last episode. He refused to submit to Daenerys because she brought a bunch of foreign invaders who will destroy the land/rape/kill/steal etc. What happened to Tarly? He got burned the fuk up. Pretty blatant symbolism that if you are opposed to foreign people coming into your land, you deserve to die. Daenerys pulls the same shit with the slavers. Again, she burns people up who don't agree with the morality she is forcing upon them. Much like the way real Americans get called racist/bigot when they resist today's PC/SJW culture. Martin would probably love to burn up anyone who doesn't agree that gays should marry and men shouldn't use womens toilets

Okay, I like this hypothesis a lot more then. The thing about it breathing fire came from S07E07 leaked script summaries, where the Night King revives Viserion and has him burn a "V" shaped opening in the wall allowing his armies to pass through.

I dread that this may come to pass, since the E05 and E06 summaries that I read before those episodes aired/leaked were pretty much spot on about 90% of the time. With the differences likely attributable to scenes that may have been cut for time.

They could have just sacrificed a few of them to do that, have a group of them hold one end of the chain at the edge of the ice and have another smaller group jump down with the other end to tie around the dragon. Then they just tug the chain or whatever to give the signal and the ones on top start pulling the dragon up.

Heck the ones that went down could even hitch a ride back up on the dragon's corpse.

Why are the White Walkers even a problem to begin with? It's been three years since Jon encountered them at Hardhome and, considering how long it took them to get to the Three Eyed Raven in the first place, at LEAST one year since Bran encountered the Night King beyond the wall. I read somewhere years ago that there is a horn of winter that can bring down the wall and it's buried somewhere under a mountain and the white walkers were searching for it, that's why it took so long for them to attack.
