I would be fine with this if they did Tokyo Drift esque antics and forced bizarre reasons Jigsaw's traps still unfolded according to keikaku. I don't think the absurd premise would hurt revenue considering people go regardless and it might actually add to the franchise.

Oh shit nigger, I'm unsure whether or not this guy is LARPing but I don't wanna risk it. I'm bailing on this thread and will tread /tv/ lightly until October 27th. I don't know how damning those spoiler tags are but the first two posts seem to imply they had the balls to kill off Hoffman while somehow keeping Mandylor's presence a secret.

From this thread and those strategically placed spoiler tags I'm assuming either Hoffman is killed / maimed in an opening trap and he is the mystery buckethead who's identity they said would be a secret, or the Passmore detective character is killed / maimed in the laser trap and is the buckethead, but if that's the case I'm expecting a time twist where the barn game plays concurrently with the investigation, then at the very end we find out the barn game hasn't happened yet, cause the buckethead's body is missing when Passmore investigates.

Quite a few. Should I just spoil the whole movie? MS Paint the traps? Its my favorite out of them all so far especially for the tonal shift but if you honestly aren't going to see it or my review will make you want to see it more then I can do an in depth analysis and all the cool easter eggs I caught.

They were always pretty bad movies. Its weaksauce torture porn for tweens, the stories aren't half as clever as they think they are, some of the traps are kind of neat, I guess, but its not enough to carry the movie.
They've never really had any artistic integrity either since I think it was only the very first one, and the last few, that were even written as saw movies from the get go.
Two, three, and four were all just random horror scripts they slapped jigsaw into, then they rushed through production to get the next movie out by next Halloween.

Yes. Literally my favorite point in the film. The tree trap and Hoffman's trap were the best in the series imo. The tree trap is probably 5th best in my list of favorite traps but doing it in first person perspective for a fucking SAW film was unexpected and a treat for the audience. Instead of me answering each post I'll just pull out my tablet and show the traps since I'm a drawfag. And post a little review. Give me a bit.

The only decent Saw is the first one, and even then it goes full retard at the end when it turns out he was in the room just lying there for like 9 hours and neither person noticed him breathing and he never moved at all.

I don't know, it could have worked if it was written in better. The reveal of no one behind the glass was pretty good. But yeah, it's just one thing that just tanks the movie for me.
Also that a fucking doctor didn't think to tie a tourniquet around his leg before hacking his leg off, or the much smarter solution donnie wahlberg has in the second one.

Sure. But I'm sure that it was put in the movie because all of the people complaining about how many other better ways there are to get out of the situation.
I mean half the fun of these movies is "how would I beat this trap?" and that bit kind of acknowledges that.
