There's a difference between a movie having legit blackface, and a movie having a character in it doing blackface.

Most of the jokes associated with RDJ's character was how absurd it was that he was doing blackface. Anyone offended by it missed the point, anyone who thinks people would be offended by it also missed the point.

Every second that takes place outside of Franco's house is legitimately funny and creative film-making and screenwriting. Unfortunately they waste all that momentum by making the majority of the film just Franco and co sitting around a dining room table jerking each other off over truly lazy and uninspired one note improv jokes ad nauseam.

Every time someone says that it is a legitimately good movie I assume they've only seen the beginning and the end bits online and never had to sit through the borderline unwatchable remaining hour plus.

Tropic Thunder was awful and unfunny. The trailers implied a far raunchier movie than what we got.
