Plinkettt and by extension RedLetterMedia is inherently dishonest and anti-factual. Rather than presenting facts and then building opinions on that, RLM instead spouts an opinion and then cherrypicks information and misleadingly post quotes that support that opinion. Even though taking the information in context means something completely different, RLM doesn’t care. They need to support their razor-thin arguments with near falsehoods.

RLM operates much like those liberal talk shows where the audience is well aware of how biased and unfair the host is but continue to consume it. Why? Because it is conveyed through humor. People are willing to swallow lies and falsehoods so long as it entertains them. That’s exactly the crowd RLM goes for. The type who suffer too much ADD to read actual reviews but are still big enough losers that they feel the need to possess some sort of smugness and hate towards what their circlejerk deems is bad.

RLM spent three Plinkett reviews badmouthing George Lucas. They cherrypicked quotes, presented them out of context and then robbed him of all of his accomplishments and made him the sole culprit of all he did wrong. This is not only factually incorrect, but it is also morally disgusting and shows that they’re willing to completely fuck directors over so long as they can entertain their audience of miserable 20 or so losers who want to feel like they’ve accomplished something in life because their RLM overlords told them they could do it better. Well now you’re stuck with Disney Marvel Wars and RLM will never ever point out just how awful they are because they’d be forced to both admit they were wrong and that their legion of Reddit fanboys are clueless sheep for swallowing TFA like it was anything but pure garbage.

Once, they criticized Battle of Five Armies for Bilbo getting knocked out for the entire battle arc, but they didn't know that not only did that not happen in the novel of The Hobbit, but it wasn't even described at all. Literally what happened was that, at the beginning of the battle, Bilbo got knocked out and fell unconscious at a distance from the action, until Gandalf found him hours later, woke him up and told him who died.

Plus, that thing where they pretend to have a stuttering problem, have trouble pronouncing names and titles. Eh, their (and by that I mean all three, Mike, Jay and Rich) reasoning behind why they thought R1 was shit is incredibly flawed. It basically adds up to: I don't like this movie therefore it is a bad movie! More specifically their main arguments in the half in the bag video were the following:
1. It wasn't what they expected. Therefore bad.
2. It is Star Wars and contains typical Star Wars elements. Therefore bad.
3. Star Wars fans enjoyed the movie. Therefore bad.

In the plinkett review they try to retroactively prove (to themselves foremost) that it's a bad movie by going into character. They criticize the film for its lack of backstory, which is a point unfair of them to make at the time considering they seemed to completely ignore most if not all the details while watching it. All that stuff about motivation, what the characters are thinking/feeling is all there. Is it brilliantly written? No, but it is there. Conveniently they also fail to mention that there are indeed "quips" in that action sequence (which essentially their plinkett review rests on). Characters do make their thoughts/feelings known during the action like in A New Hope; characters do have arcs in the movie.

They got called out on their bullshit, so naturally they made this video to try and poorly defend themselves (with flawed reasoning again). Anyone can reduce a movie to trivial notions using flawed reasoning, especially while ignoring large parts of the story.

I'm not saying this movie is brilliant. I'm not saying people have no right to dislike it. But if you attack this movie in a review like they do, you should have good reasons to back up your opinions. Unfortunately this is something that RLM does not do, but I guess has never done either. They review films primarily on how they feel without actually putting any thought into it.

To be fair, they've really only directly shit on him once, and even then only kind of and in a joking manner.

That said, Stuckmann got big doing reviews where he echoes popular opinion. I don't think Stuckmann has ever really gone against the grain and held a controversial opinion or ever really had an opinion of his own. If something is popular, he's a big fan of it. If something is unpopular, he hates it, too. This is also one of the big reasons his reviews never actually go deep into why a movie was good or bad, because he's not examining the movies on his own, he's just reflecting and repeating what other people think of the movies. In a lot of ways, that makes him the opposite of RLM, who will shit on a popular movie and praise an unpopular movie if they thought the movies were bad or good personally, and go into great detail as to why they hold the opinion that they hold.

The hack fraud known as Mike claims to be a huge Star Trek fan. And yet, his Star Trek reviews are filled with errrors. For example, in his Generations review he claims the emergency turbolift to the battle bridge was never used. In fact it was used in the first episode of TNG. Then he claims the water tank in STIV was made of transparent aluminum. It was not, they traded the formula for transparent aluminum in exchange for conventional plexiglass.
