Amazons is very different than any other toku, especially the modern ones. It was made for the adult fanbase by Amazon so there's lots of violence and artsy fartsy plotting and direction.

I don`t know about the other countries but Japan mostly makes really weak dramas. It is really weird to watch celebrities who can`t act alongside some decent actors/actresses on these very expesive sets on scenes that clearly have really expensive lighting/camera/costumes. Better go with movies instead.
