Don't worry about the notice.

Buy or make a cheap PC or use a virtual machine on your computer that exclusively connects to your VPN and downloads from it. Never use your main PC for downloading since you could forget.

If you use a good torrent service they won'e be able to see you. The only catch is in the protocols. They can see through some protocols, but there are more secure good ones it's literally impossible to see thru.

Install something like tunnelblick and then google a good VPN service. The good ones are usually subscription ones, but their price is a joke. It's usually around about 5$ per months. And those are not only secure, but also as fast as your internet.
