I think Sam is a genuinely disturbing person. It's hard to think of many people that are more self destructive and delusional than him. During the podcast with Anthony Fantano he mentions that he believes he fulfills the lover archetype, that when he meets a person he wants to connect in a real way straight away, and says that Anthony isn't trying to connect properly. It's embarrassing to watch because Sam at no point during that podcast is as real as he can be, and during most of it he's hiding behind 10 layers of irony, being deliberately subversive and awkward. It also goes without saying that he has almost systematically broken any principles he has set up as virtuous, especially those that he mentioned in the KSTV series and completely went to town on others for breaking. Can you imagine finding yourself getting shit on like the people in KSTV? It would be fucking humiliating. But Sam wants all the exceptions to himself. There has to be something wrong with him
