I guess this is still officially the best TV drama series
it really is, but it's getting to the point that it's a bit dated. The season 1 stuff with AJ taking tests for ADD and the music business stuff is near unwatchable. As is "I told you that crack was some bad shit". Season 6 dips a bit as well, the Vito stuff was probably more modern and clever back in 2006 but the visual puns are cringeworthy now. Nothing in the show is as bad as the Cleaver stuff tho, that's bottom of the barrel fantasy unrealistic bullshit

Lost exists

>As is "I told you that crack was some bad shit"
Wow fuck off that is a perfect punchline to that sequence the writer was a fucking genius.
>>86426672
Also Tony B's shitty fucking children. I know they only appear for a few minutes over a like 10+ hours long season but they're fucking ugly and stupid looking and terrible at acting and I fucking hate them
>>86426672
>Season 6 dips a bit as well
Literally the best season of the show.
>brother has seasons 4 to 6
>not 1 to 3

The Cleaver stuff is pretty cringey, but I feel like it ties Christopher's story together pretty nicely. Throughout the entire series, he has this sort of misplaced sense of self-awareness about how his character is supposed to have an arc, which is basically the beginning of the entire film industry subplot that starts in season 1. And by the time the Cleaver stuff happens, he kind of realizes that he's not going anywhere despite all the sacrifices he made (especially Adriana) which is why the movie is metaphorically about killing Tony.

>set a series in the 60s
>have references from the era woven into dialogue
>wow so immersive 10/10
>series made in late 90s
>naturally is a perfect recreation of the era
>dude it's dated lmao
Really gabba'd my gool

I literally said none of that besides the dated part

>>86432024
No it really wasn't. Tony was not taking it seriously the entire time to comedic effect

How does anybody justify The Sopranos being better than The Wire?
>>86426704
Lost is the greatest tv experience watched weekly, something respectable still. Sopranos Benefits from watching a couple episodes at once, they mirror scenes, themes etc. from the previous episode often.
>>86434256
D is one of the most tragic characters in all TV history.
You spelled mad men wrong op
>>86427065
lol. that bugged me too
>>86434256
Because it just simply is. Think of the scene between Bunk and Omar in season 3 which a lot of people regard as one of the best. In reality, it's just a boring predictable verbal dressing-down of the "badass" character. Imagine if some holier than thou character such as Bunk gave the same speech to Tony in The Sopranos. Holy shit it would be awful.

>literally
Shut the fuck up, "dated" is as bullshit a criticism as "overrated"
t. someone who doesn't even think The Sopranos is the best show
