What's the /tv/ consensus on season two of Preacher?

i think it started well but it got a little boring

I just watched this and I spent the entire movie repeating the words "This is reddit, this is memes, this is reddit, this is memes..." under my breath.

I fucking hated it. I was writhing around on the floor in front of my sofa for the last 30 minutes it was so painful.

It's poorly written, poorly directed, and poorly acted with few exceptions. Put that altogether with fart jokes and typical stoner humor and it's just shit.

Having never read the comic and always passed it off as some 3edgy5me shit, based on what I've seen of it posted around /co/ and shit. I actually loved the first season a lot, ended up reading about what the comic is actually like, and much to my surprise it sounds like something I'd actually really love.

Second season is tying to be funny more often than I'd like, but it's still good to me. I think I'm going to be more interesting in reading the books than watching the show at this point, still not sure if I'm going to wait until the show is done or just say fuck it and read the books.
