>The first feature film Louis C.K. has directed since 2001’s Pootie Tang will be part of this year’s Toronto International Film Festival.
>Announced Tuesday as part of the prestigious fest’s ever-expanding lineup, I Love You, Daddy was filmed “entirely in secret,” per the Toronto International Film Festival, and stars C.K., Chloe Grace Moretz, John Malkovich, Helen Hunt, Rose Byrne, and C.K.’s frequent collaborator Pamela Aldon (Lucky Louie, Louie). C.K. shot the film in 35mm and in black and white.
Will it be kino?

I didn't know he directed Pootie Tang? What the fuck is the story with that?
>>86415169
so who is the daddy in this?
>>86415300
Kinda explains why the movie doesn't fucking care
>>86415378
He and Chris Rock are friends. Rock probably just asked him to do it.
He finally jumps the indie dad core shark in to oblivion.
>Chloe Grace Moretz
When I was younger me and my Mum put on Pootie tang. The opening was probably one of the funniest things I've ever seen. We turned the film off about 30 minutes into it. Never has a film before or after managed to drop so much in quality after the intro.
Here it is: https://youtube.com/watch?v=ujtDim8GI-4 yes, I'm aware how retarded it is
>>86415378
i don't remember the whole story but he also got fired and replaced in postproduction or something, and the studio recut/changed the movie around a lot
>>86415466
Louis actually wrote it too. It was his project.
>>86415169
>C.K. shot the film in 35mm
I want to do this and can't afford it while the cocksucker who made Pootie Tang gets to do it off the back of being good at cheap cynicism in a black tee.
>>86415169
>C.K., Chloe Grace Moretz
>>86415378
He did an interview with Jim Norton and talked about pootie tang. He said he made a movie and in post production they took his movie and completely turned it into something that didn't make sense. He says what they did to it made it a piece of shit and he was pretty upset about it.
>>86415671
He also claimed that he was failing at his job and was fired but they put his name on the piece of shit anyways...
>>86415671
I'm sure the same thing will happen with this one.
The part about it being shitty, not about some illuminati turning his great film into crap
Tfw you realize Louis CK is just a massive faggot
>People hating Louis
His standup has gotten stale but Horace and Pete was 100% pure kino, if you're not excited for this you're a pleb
>>86415169
I thought you had to have a brain to be pretentious
>>86415169
its going to be pretentious isnt it
>>86415169
>35mm and in black and white.
Good god he's a pretentious douche
>>86415671
>somewhere out there, there may be a cut of Pootie Tang that's actually good.
Makes you think, how many movies that may have been masterpieces were ruined by editing?
>>86415900
>Horace and Pete was 100% pure kino
>>86416204
I doubt pootie tang would have ever been good. But it does make you wonder how many movies get fucked over that way.
>>86415900
It was maybe 10% you deluded twat.
>>86416894
Horace and Pete is garbage. It's like what people who have never been to a bar think what happens in a bar.
>>86416968
d-did you actually watch it?
also i still don't understand how what you said was any sort of valid criticism
>Horace and Pete was shot in secret and is released with no prior publicity
>I Love You, Daddy is shot in secret and released with no prior publicity
Why does he rely on this gimmick so much? Is it a crutch because his mediocre idea aren't good enough to stand on their own?
>>86415671
What makes me doubt this is that it was called "Pootie Tang".
>>86417135
Sounds like arrogance to me. Like he's either too big or too "real" for "fake" Hollywood bullshit like informing people of your work.
On the other hand, maybe, he might be trying to dodge rumors of projects collapsing. I doubt it, but who knows.
>>86417135
I think he's just in it for himself and genuinely doesn't give a fuck.
>>86417728
I see it as more of a publicity stunt to make a trite idea(small character driven indie drama with some comedy) seem fresh.
>>86417135
It's being shown at festivals so obviously it won't be secret once it's released to theaters/screens. He probably won't forego marketing again
