mate it clean burned through the MUTO. Bear in mind that MUTOs feed of radioactivity so have a natural resistance to its effects. On the other hand Kong got pretty wrecked by some napalm and is covered in hair which burns I think atomic breath is gonna do a bit more than the naplam did.

Even if kong manages to close the distance godzilla still has a mouth full of teeth, claws and is covered in scales. Reminder that these scales can withstand a nuclear bomb.
