We Need to Talk About Kevin was one of the last movies to make me feel uncomfortable. I love horror movies and suspense thrillers and emotional thrill-ride movies, but it's been a long time since I felt so disturbed by a film.

It's not for everyone, but the filmmakers really make you feel that this mother-and-son hatred really did last a lifetime.

Everyone should watch it.

Cant really say. It's one of the few movies I couldn't finish nor I wanted to finish.

It was very unsettling for me because
1. I was raised by a single mom and have some mommy issues
2. I really want to be a dad and it represent's one of my worst fears of not being able to connect with your kid/ having your kid hate you despite your best efforts

Actually Lynne Ramsay is probably the only good woman director.

Kevin was a manifestation of his mother's hatred of her marriage and the bad decisions she made in her life.

She didn't want to be married, she didn't want to have kids, she didn't want the traditional life, but she entered into that life anyway and then immediately regretted it.

When he killed everyone, including her husband, she was actually happy. When we see her in the end of the movie living alone, she's actually happy, despite the tragic events.

The moral of the story is that women are evil psychopathic cunts.
