She is white though, all of her family members have blonde hair and blue eyes. I think she was supposed to be like a dark Southern Spanish/Italian compared to a pale Northern Italian/Basque family; all related but appearances are very different. Don't believe the tumblr pictures, or any art work, the books are rather explicit on how her family looks.
