The floating head represents how large Iron Man's ego has gotten after all his accompolishments. This is contrasted with War Machine, who hasn't accomplished anything, and keeps his mask on (his ego is down to earth). The beautiful colorful backdrop is meant to underscore how Iron Man's ego is taking off, which is why it's an airport. This is also supported by the fact that in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (2017) there is a character named Ego who is in space. He is in fact Iron Man's ego which left him after Stan Lee called him Tony Stank. It's all intriciate genius imagery and plotlining that a DCuck like you can't appreciated.

Honestly, before the movie came out, I heard so much about this "GREAT AIRPORT SCENE." And when I finally saw it, it was just a CGI Green screen fest. Am I seeing it wrong or something?
