Here's the guide:
If it's received well by critics and general audience, /tv/ will hate it
If it's not received well by critics and general audience, /tv/ will love it

This.
No way this trainwreck will be good
>>86271097
As a borderline retarded fan of the original(s) I can only say this: if someone can pull it, is Villeneuve. It could be not enough and a big amount of things can get in the way.

I only like Brade Runner because I am a huge PKD fanboy

But a lot of people loved the movie years later, and this movie has Harrison Ford AND Ryan Gosling.

>From the director of Prisoners
The most IMDB sensibility film made so far. Anybody who thinks that Prisoners is above mediocre is juvenile about the medium and entirely emblematic of the video game crossposter fueled downfall of this board.
Villeneuve is one of the biggest trashmasters working today, hack's hack. This is hot pocket: the movie. Cheeto dust: the flick.
IMDB "FILM BUFF" pleb fodder. If you like this film then you are an enemy of the medium.

its going to be bad
lets face it, good art nowadays is dead. nothing feels original and genuine anymore. everything feels like a manufactured commercial. when was the last time you were excited about something and it lived up to the hype? when was the last time a truly amazing movie or show came out? the standard of quality within the arts be it music, movies, video games, etc has gone down considerably.
there was no reason to make a sequel to bladerunner. Having ford reprise his role defeats the purpose of the first movie.
I'll watch it but I dont have high hopes for it. Which sucks cause I love cyerpunk settings and not too many movies do that

Pris' feet were in this sequence right? And she came onto the NEET engineer.

>>86271330
But people on the internet care about Blade Runner 20 years after the fact! And people like Sci-Fi like Alien and Star Wars! That means that this is a surefire hit!
In all seriousness, I feel that the movie can do great if the quality is there, but it will be based on strong word of mouth, and there's no way it's gonna break $400 million

It's not like I disagree with you, but The Handmaiden did that for me.

Let's hope the storyline is something that has gestated and formed, been rewritten and fine tuned for the last 30+ years.
Sadly, I fear it was the outline that was greenlit with the final draft completed to a deadline in order to meet a production start date.
Of all this year's big movies, this is the one I am rooting for the most.
>>86271388

I mean, it's literally impossible to be bad. It may be worse than the original, but it will be at least 6/10
>>86271097
I would probably try to enjoy the movie if it wasn't for this old fart in the cast. Why do people consider it a good idea to insert decaying geezers into sequels?
>>86271290
/tv/ loves The Emoji Movie.
It's emojikino.
>>86271230
I agree
>>86271097
look at that color palette, already seems like its coat tailing on popular trends rather than having any original artistic direction.

>tfw Blade Runner is one of my favorite films, and I have zero hope for this completely unnecessary sequel
Which cut is best cut?
>>86274971
It also ruins the whole "Deckard is a replicant" side of it. And before people start sperging out about that, I'll remind /tv/ that Ridley Scott confirmed it.
>>86275161
Director's cut
replicants aren't supposed to age, lol
>>86275161
I have to go with Director's cut (even though it isn't actually a directors cut).
Final cut would be the best, but they put that stupid blue filter over everything.
as long as it has all the visual greatness of the first i literally don't give a shit. it could be about ryan gosling and harrison ford falling in love and committing suicide together at the end and i'll still love it.
>>86274971
I actually liked grumpy Han. I was rooting for the empire in the ogs
>>86275197
>>86275217
Maybe old Ford is the prime Deckard. My personal theory was that whenever there was a replicant incident deemed too dangerous, they would call in a replicant who believed he was a blade runner to deal with the escaped replicants without posing risk to real human life. Maybe their standard Rick Deckard model was based off a real person who was once an actual blade runner.
>>86275289
>as long as it has all the visual greatness of the first
Nah it's going to be a CGI shitfest. Somewhere online there's a comparison between the practical effect of Roy Batty jamming his head through the wall when he's fighting Deckard and a clip from the trailer where some guy plows through a CGI wall. New Blade Runner will be trash.
>>86271449
ignore nu/tv/. it's long been a favorite here and is a go to pleb filter
Why do people insist on giving Harrison Ford jobs? Do normies enjoy looking at someone who just wants to go home and smoke weed?
>>86271097
Well it already has old Harrison Ford in it, so realistically it will only be 'good inspite of'.
That said, I haven't given up hope. Villeneuve is great at what he does.
