Does /tv/ like Adventure Time?

Yes. It's smart without being clever. Its lessons are more akin to the ones in fairytales, universal and easily understandable. It doesn't pretend to be 2deep4u and is funny.

It got a little wierd but things change and people need to get over it.

Haven't watched in a while, but I really liked what I saw here and there of the first few seasons.
I Should check out the rest.

Dropped it at Flame Princess, knew it was running out of steam at that point. I think if they went for actual plotlines rather than every episode being a one-off adventure they wouldn't have run out of ideas for a child adventurer in a magical land after one season.

You can keep the weirdness, and the strange dialog and characters, but fuck, how many times have you watched an episode and the plot goes in a completely different direction than you were anticipating? Often into anticlimactic territory?

I don't know, it had flaws. It was overrated by my generation, yet wasn't appreciated by older cartoon fans. I think it's pretty hollow. Like what it sets out to do and what it does are fundamentally different. I hear that the writing is literally a stream-of-consciousness le so random fest and that's why the episodes turn out the way they do, and it would explain why it's a crap shoot. The dialog could have been smarter, more jokes. You take old cartoons and they'll have "jokes for the adults" and I don't mean sexual innuendo, I mean jokes only adults would get, and this show has very few. Really strange, empty dialog. Visually fun to look at, but I like my shows to have wit and this seemed sorely lacking. And of course, this whole universe which could be expanded upon, but they don't seem to do it in a meaningful way. Samurai Jack takes you into that world, expands upon it, has an end goal in mind, has an overarching theme, even has more humor than Adventure Time. Dialog is sparse but meaningful. The first big antagonist of Adventure Time is just some weirdo who does silly things.
