Apologize.
Why, didn't hate it... didn't love it. It was just okay. I admit though when I seen it in theaters I was shocked by the animation.

plot sucks
animation was flat-out incredible for its time tho
celebrity voices are distracting as fuck for some reason and it wants to be aliens/starship troopers too much, but otherwise it's a pretty solid film
No, you apologize to me and my poor suffering parents who took me to see this shit in the theatres. I wish I could've just walked out. I've never felt such shame before in my entire life.
The bikini picture is the only thing of some value.

How did they assemble an ensemble cast for a movie about a video game that none of them had probably heard of?
That said I kind of liked it, it's good to watch on a lazy day, has a comfy feel to it

>celebrity voices are distracting as fuck for some reason
God bless James Woods for being so invested, though. Any time he's allowed to be a villain he fucking runs with it, even if he's the only one seemingly trying in a movie.

I would like it more if it didn't have such an incredibly stupid plot surrounding some life form that embodies the Earth that was somehow completely unknown to humanity until it became necessary to stop some alien life force, (or ghosts), as some plot device. Maybe I'm biased against it because of those reasons because I really despise that sort of lazy, metaphysical and typically Japanese writing.
Other than that, it was shit regardless.

apparently the guy is also a huge video game fan, I wonder if that's why he agreed to do the movie
