>Veteran director John Frankenheimer once had a one night stand with a woman, who later named him as the father of her baby. Advised by his attorney, Frankenheimer paid the woman $75,000 to keep quiet, and she gave the baby up for adoption. Years later, the boy, who had been adopted by a local family, tracked her down, and learned of his possible relation to Frankenheimer, who agreed to a DNA test that ultimately proved that despite the liason he was not the young man's father. The young man was none other than blockbuster director Michael Bay. Despite Bay's efforts to keep the situation under wraps, Frankenheimer himself related the story to the media just five days before the premiere of Bay's latest movie at the time, PEARL HARBOR (2001).

Agreed. And Bay is a much more talented director than given credit for. I'm not being contrarian. His talent lies in the shoot-em-up action genre. Pearl Harbor sucked for a variety of reasons but direction wasn't one of them.

I actually like "Pearl Harbor", despite the cheesy love triangle that the studio heads forced into the movie to ape "Titanic". The parts Bay actually WANTED to shoot, like the attack itself and the Doolittle Raid, were solid.
