Lois is indeed a control freak, they call her out on it multiple times but those kids sure are assholes even by kids standards and aren't giving themselves any excuses. I think quite a lot of their characters comes from some sort of teen angst and rebelling against their mothers rule. Still, I find it incredibly realistic for a sitcom or at least it's making me nostalgic.

Speaking of Malcolm, how did you guys feel when early-mid 2000s TV shows and culture concluded in 2006? Sad? Bittersweet?

I think they were great parents.

They were a nice balance to each other.

The kids were just being kids.

Actually it ended in 2006 when Malcolm ended.. In 2007, Great Recession, iPhones, Big Bang Theory, Out of Jimmy's Head, iCarly, HDTVs, Obama running for president, troop surge, and a bunch of other shit happened that marked the beginning of the modern era.
