That particular one was probably the only one I did like though.

This is the worst fucking show I have ever seen in my entire life. It is poorly written, produced and directed. The entire premise is retarded. The cast sucks. The show was written into a corner from minute one. The fat guy was the one remotely relateable character and he would have lost some fucking weight after months of starving on a derelict alien space ship that somehow functions after a million years of constant of operation without any maintenance at all, on some vague mission to find God and reboot his Wifi. How about some poorly written, poorly rendered CGI aliens whose entire presence in the storyline is ultimately completely irrelevant and nothing happens except that they die. What a total piece of shit. It is a Science Fiction franchise. Not a Mad Lib. The tone was completely fucked. The messages were political. Where was the light comedy, the irony? The action? Why the preachy messages about homosexuality? Why overuse the time travel angle? Why did they intentionally write a show filled with characters you hoped would die because they would whine all the time, but who would not only in fact never die, but also have other whining time travel duplicates of themselves made in insulting plot turns that are totally lame?

Not only did they take forever to come out with S2, they were airing at the same time as other seasons. Season 1 was pure ass, the half of season 2 was slow as fuck, and didn't start getting interesting until the end of season 2 when they discovered themselves that got shot through the future. It has potential if they just waited and concentrated on it, but instead decided to focus on the other 2 projects. Season 11 would have been amazing for Sg1, btw happens to the Ori? fuck I'll never know because they were too retarded fucking up Universe.

I'd still embrace a restart of the show where you have a new crew managing to gate onto the ship with some power source that takes care of that problem for a while. They'd find that something went wrong with the stasis chambers and that people died(the ones not willing to return to the show) or aged(the people willing to return) due to the ship at first not having enough power for all the stasis pods to stay on and then changing the parameters, resulting in visibly aging but surviving.

Use it to get rid of Eli and all the other fucking boring characters that just brought relationship drama.

There were some genuinely great things about SGU. However, there weren't enough to save it from being irredeemable trash. Yes it sort of picked up and got better in S2. But it was also still plagued by lots of shit and frankly I don't think it could ever recover. Getting better when you're starting from absolute garbage isn't that much of an accomplishment.

You had the Lucian Alliance which is a joke. First they can damage an Asgard/Ancient upgraded 304 and now they can gate to Destiny? They had so many resources and leaps of technology when they're glorified pirates, whereas you have the entire Earth govt taking years to make similar leaps even with Asgard and Ancient knowledge.

Then you had the drones. FFS the drones were the ultimate bad guys of S2. It might have been a cool concept, "leftover remnants from a long forgotten war" but it sucked in execution. It doesn't give you anything to fight against.

Then you have all the shit characters, the biggest (literally) being Eli. Fuck that kid. He and Chloe were like that parody episode in SG1 where they suggested to have younger actors to reach out to the audience. Nah, fuck that, I'm okay with not having kids on my goddamn space show.

The good things about SGU were the characters that didn't suck. I don't mind if they wanted to take it in a different direction and make it a more character driven drama. They had some good characters. Rush, Young, Greer, even Scott had some promise. But then you also have Wray who was boring, Tamara, who the writers didn't really know what to do with besides "muh baby", and Eli and Chloe who as said before, were shit. The show was also trying way too hard to be BSG and lost some of the things that made Stargate, Stargate.

The only things SGU did right, imo. Were the Rush/Young dynamic and the teasing of a more "cosmic scale" as evidenced by things like CBR mystery and those hyper-advanced aliens that we didn't even see that built that one planet. Everything else was just garbage. The soapy teen drama shit complete with lame music videos, the stones, not so much the idea of the stones but fucking using them for revenge sex? Fucking retarded, and it was the higher ranking military officers too no less. That being said a lot of the characters were way better than the constant slutting it up the writers had them all getting up too. Except for Chloe, she was all about Chad dick from episode 1 and while it could be called commendable that's really all her character did even when they tried to give her alien brains. If it could've kept it in its pants, SGU would've stuck around a bit longer, imo.

They should just bring back the original SG-1 premise with a different team, it would be easy and it would 100% work. The premise is timeless, simple, and really lucrative.
