The Drop ( this one i recommend to you the most, it's pure crime kino and gandolfinis farewell role, le big guy is in it too but there's really no memes in this movie, they really did capture a 70s feel while making this film)
Millers Crossing (fantastic crime movie, an early coen brothers film, great story and dialogue, check this out too if you like a prohibition era crime epic)
