did you know that those nasa rockets never fly upwards in a straight line, but in a curve?

Yeah obviously you idiot you're not gonna achieve orbit if you just go up
>>
>>86147921
The space shuttle was a huge waste of time and money which probably set the US space program back years, so no. Let's not idolise that piece of crap

huh?

Probably less money than spent on weapons.

Did you know that space travel isn't real it's all faked by the NASA Jews

There's the Right Stuff, which is a 3 hour movie about the orbiting missions Nasa did in the late 50s and early 60s.

What about the Russians then ?

Orbit = falling all the round the world. You need sufficient sideways momentum. Gravity doesn't stop acting on you just because you're outside the atmosphere

Space Camp, niggu

Space Camp

We'll just have to wait for the Chinese to go there and see what's what. They don't listen to anyone but themselves.

thats because the earth is flat

If China's stuff lines up with ours people will just say that they were brainwashed to agree with us. There will never be enough evidence for people who believe this retarded stuff. Same with the flat earth people.

We don't even have one about Skylab and Apollo-Soyuz,

>Mercury Era
The Right Stuff

>Gemini/Apollo
From the Earth to the Moon and Apollo 13

We still need to finish the classical era before we move on to the shuttles.

the greatest achievement of "american ingenuity", actually an utter crap that cost the country billions.

russians made their soyuz rockets in the fucking 60's and still use them, because they are that good. as a matter of fact, EVERYONE uses them if they need to transport humans into the orbit.

Flat Earthers act stupid because they want free tickets to space or the South Pole. For some reason they can't even pay for a plane ticket from Wellington to Santiago de Chile which they think doesn't exist.

That's how you know they're a scam.

The Space Shuttle was fucking LAME it was a mini van that carried moms and teachers into s-.....oh wait
>>

I like the fleet itself but the program wasn't very exciting. And there was few new personalities. The first 5 groups (55 astronauts) were like rock stars. ASTP from 1975 was the end of that era (though 3 astronauts from those groups had their first flight on space shuttles).
>>
>>86149281
the space shuttle is just a jet plane

Why was it done? Someone decide the old space tech from the 60-70s was outdated?
>>
>>86149009
I kinda wish they would do this again!
>>
>>86149700
Right from the start there were plans for re-usable spacecrafts like Dyno-Soar and the shuttles are what was left of these plans.

all the technology destroyed and never to be redesigned or replaced, all the footage of the mission lost forever, and when it was to be broadcasted on tv stations weren't allowed to play it directly, they had to record the recordings and THEN play that on tv
>>
>>86149700
>Someone decide the old space tech from the 60-70s was outdated?

The Space Shuttle *was* '70s space tech.

It was all politics. Nixon was uninterested in space travel and axed the Apollo program as soon as it was politically feasible. The shuttle was what NASA came up with to justify its continued existence.
>>
>>86147921
no it makes it to obvious it was all faked
>>
>>86150354
this, that's why there's barely any realistic movies on the moon. there was, well, Moon, but that was kinda cheapo.

the moon is transparent and self-luminous. sometimes stars can be seen through it
>>
>>86149793
Isn't that what the ISS is about?
