Is Jonathan Nolan's adaptation of Isaac Asimov's Foundation still happening ?
No news since a long time. Is he too busy with Westworld ?

Also, what would be your cast ?

are the sequels any good?

I finished the first book not too long ago but it couldn't hold my attention anymore after the last time skip and I don't even recall what it was about or how the story ended. I imagine this is a much better watch than it is a read, because I found it really fucking tiresome how it introduced a new setting, plight and cast of characters every couple or so chapters

You might like the next books then, they start to stick to one timeline and set of characters more.
That's why I hated them though, they shat all over what I liked about the first book with its world-building and the breadth of what the Seldon plan stimulated in my imagination.

It would be too kino for plebs to appreciate

I think the concept was pretty cool, but I don't think he was an engaging storyteller. The highlights were when Seldon reappeared with a new batch of foresight information, but those sections were few and far inbetween and the last timeline didn't even feature any iirc

Most books are that way. Movies take out the irrelevant bits and make it more interesting.

What have we done to deserve this?

Sequels are quite a bit different from the first book. Much more contiguous, focused, in a way. Also they don't have any time-skips. At least not like the first one.

Goyer > Nolan

God damn overrated hacks. What they did with fucking Dark Knight Rises and Person of Interest and shit.

By Seldon this is a travesty.
