I want laughs, I want fun and somewhat interesting sci-fi, and I want the characters to remain in character.

Episodes 2 and 3 didn't really deliver on any of these, the only decent part aside from pointless violence in the episodes was the Morty's arm subplot.

I'm not ready to disown the show or shit on the new writing staff just yet but we've still gotten two bad episodes in a row.

Just finished watching this show in its entirety. It rarely has any "laugh out loud" moments, and the set pieces, while interesting, don't feel like they have any substance. The show is pretty forgettable overall and only has a following because "liking science" (but not necessarily understanding or practicing science) is the hip/cool thing. It doesn't offend my sensibilities in any way, it's just mediocre at best. I can/will watch it, but it's nothing more than a mindless cartoon, not the genius show its fanbase makes it out to be.
